“Filmmaking is a chance to live many lifetimes.” -Robert Altman
It is this sentiment that drives the choice of work and medium for filmmaker and photographer Christina Reilly. Versatility, freedom, reinvention: Reilly brings these qualities to her clients through her work.
This flexible approach has taken her from directing live tv cooking segments with Rocco DeSpirito, to shooting a music video for a punk band in the bathroom stall of a Bushwick bar, to being an impromptu stand-in for Donald Trump’s hair. President Carter has requested her personally to produce some of his radio interviews, she’s gotten Hall of Fame guitarist Slash to recount on-air some of his raunchiest nights on the road, and even wrangled lovesick zombies in her role as Producer on the set of Zombie Honeymoon, one of Movieline’s “7 Masterpieces of the ‘00s You’ve Never Seen”.
As a photographer, Reilly’s visual style is a mix of editorial street photography with an obscure eye for the unseen. Her video work captures rich colors and lush close-ups with a simple and verite-driven editing style.
